(NOTE:  As with most events, the below listed times to a subject to minor changes; the event coordinators ask in advance for your patience and understand for any and all schedule changes)

Friday, May 4th:

Noon - 11:00pm: Event site and registration opens. Location: Ellwood Mansion (Note: NPS Firearms Safety Inspection to conducted at this location; participants who arrive late will have their firearms inspected on Saturday morning)

8:00pm – 9:00pm: Participant Briefing and Historical Background.  Location:  Ellwood Mansion front porch area (Note: the purpose of this is to brief the participants on the weekend events, historical background of the battle, and what is expected of them, as well as NPS rules and regulations.  This will also be the time to address and resolve any “last minute additional administrative issues).

11:00pm:  Site and Registration closes.

Saturday, May 5th:

5:30am – 6:30am: Wake-up, roll call, Company Administrative matters, pack-up

6:30am - 7:30am: Breakfast (Note: this would be the time for participants to cook their rations for the day since there will be no camp fires until nightfall)

7:30am - 9:00am – Drill (Participants Only). 

10:00am – 4:00pm – Designated Participants move to the Saunders Field/Wilderness Battlefield Exhibit Shelter to conduct 140thNY/146th NY Zouave LH program

10:00am – 4:00pm – Federal Field Hospital Program begins at Ellwood Mansion

9:15am – 10:45am – Movement to the Higgerson Farm site

10:45am – 11:00am – Water Break.  Location:  Park Picnic area located adjacent to the Higgerson Farm site

11:00am – 11:45am – Morning Program:  “Trampling Through Gardens:  Wadworths Division at the Higgerson Farm.” 

11:45am – 12:45pm – Movement to the Widow Tapp site

12:45pm – 1:00pm – Water and rest break.  Location:  Chewing Farm site

1:00pm – 2:00pm – Continued movement to Widow Tapp site.

2:00pm – 2:45pm – Afternoon Program:  “Alone in the Clearing: Federals at the Widow Tapp Field.”

 
Important Information

We will be limiting registration to 70 invited. After 70,  registration will close.As said several times on the website, this event is INVITATION ONLY

 A registration fee of $10.00 will be charged to each participant. Your registration as a participant will only be accepted after this fee is paid.

 Please remember to bring 40 rounds of blank ammunition. Details will be e-mailed to participants after registration.

Rations will not be provided; participants are expected to bring their own appropriate and campaign style rations.  Historical information concerning rations issued to the Army of the Potomac will be forthcoming.

Water and firewood will be provided.  Per NPS rules, campfires regulations are 1 campfire per 15 men.   Designated fire areas will have been identified by participant’s arrival. 

Medical:  Please inform this website, via the registration page, of any medial conditions.  Also, please let you chain of command know upon arrival at the event. 

WARNING:  At times, this event will be physically  strenuous, to include traversing wooded and rough terrain, as well as trails and asphalt roads (most of this will occur on Saturday).  Please be in a physical condition that will let you enjoy this event without falling out.  Also, it is also recommend this will not be an event to “break-in” any new Civil War era footwear.

2:45pm - 3:00pm - Water and rest break.  Location:  Widow Tapp Field

3:00pm – 4:00pm – Movement to the Brock Road Intersection site

4:00pm – 4:30pm – Arrive and prepare for the Brock Road program; water break included.

4:30pm – 6:00pm – Evening Program:  “Darkness in the Woods: The Vermont Brigade and the aftermath of battle.”

6:00pm – 6:30pm – Clean-up and prepare for movement back to Ellwood Mansion; water break included

6:30pm – 8:00pm – Movement back to Ellwood Mansion (*Note: the planned movement back is currently for the participants to either choose to march back via park trails within the battlefield or choose to ride in vehicles available for shuttle back to Ellwood House.  Please note that those who chose to march back, the movement back to Ellwood will encompass possible darkness)

8:00pm – 11:00pm – Company Time

11:00pm – Lights out

Sunday, May 6th:

7:00am – 8:00am:  Wake-up, roll call

8:00am – 9:00am:  Breakfast

10:00am – 11:00am:  Drill (Participants only)

11:00am – 12:00pm:  Company Time

12:00pm – 1:00pm:  Sunday Program:  “The Federal Soldier in the Overland Campaign: Overview of Federal Infantry in Combat, 1864.”

*1:00pm – TBA:   Begin Program for designated participants who volunteer to stay to participate in individual/small living history demo’s at the Ellwood site.

1:00pm:  Event concludes
