This event will interpret the events that tool place in Charleston at the start of the Civil War.   The Event will cover the mustering of SCV troop 1 week prior to the April 12, 1861 firing on Ft. Sumter on Charleston Harbor.  We will execute this Living History by portraying 2 companies of no more the 40 men each from the First South Carolina Regular Infantry (Butlers).  Civilian impressions will represent the strong local Charlestonian presence on the Island during this call to arms phase of April 61’.

The Event will encompass garrison activities for the two companies as they go through training.  One Company will be outfitted with Uniforms/ equipment and arms.  The second company will arrive into camp in civilian attire of the period based on there personal “situation” in society.  Each company will engage in various events that would be typical of those of a recently formed regiment.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact Neill Rose @ ironscout@charter.net
